Volunteering Abroad Shouldn't Cost the Earth

Sloth Rehab Internship Costa Rica

Description

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release Costa Rica wildlife. We work with a model that focuses on conservation, education, and research to ensure a brighter tomorrow for Costa Rica wildlife. Our emphasis is on the care, rehabilitation, and release of national wildlife. We receive and care for confiscated, sick, and injured animals from government agencies. We work closely with the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica (MINAE) who brings injured and displaced wildlife to the center. We provide sanctuary while giving treatment and rehabilitation. Whenever possible the animal is released to their natural environment. For those that are unable to return to the wild, we provide them life-long care.

If you'd like to have more information about our different internship programs, you can check out our website, where you can also apply by filling out the application form.

Duties

Depending on the interns background and personality, they may be asked if they would like to help with other tasks. All interns are observed on how well they handle themselves around wildlife to determine further responsibility. The standard work schedule is 5-days a week from 7am and 3pm. Two days off per week - not necessarily weekends or holidays.
