We are looking for volunteers who are hardworking; outgoing; and wish to contribute to the nation-wide effort to stop hunger in Argentina. There is a wide variety of opportunities for our volunteers; from the part-time sorting of food set for re-distribution to regularly scheduled administrative volunteership in our central office. We are the largest food bank in Argentina helping feed over 103; 000 people; 80% of which are children under the age of 13. Due to the estimated growth of people afflicted by hunger in the region; we need volunteers first and foremost in the field of food classification. This task involves the sorting of food donated by commercial companies and producers which will then be re-distributed to donor organizations such as food kitchens; children homes; and churches. For those who wish to volunteer more permanently (over 3 months); we also offer opportunities in the various administrative sectors of our office.

In the office some knowledge of Spanish is highly recommended. However; little to no Spanish knowledge is needed for classifying food. Many members of our staff are bilingual and willing to help improve your Spanish.
There is no cost to participate but volunteers are responsible for covering their own living expenses. Most volunteers stay in the centre of Buenos Aires but it’s quite easy to get to our project by train; subway; or bus.
