Our jungle lodge and research facility sits on the Brazilian side of the lower Río Javarí; the geographical border between Peru and Brazil.
We seek committed volunteers who want to experience an unforgettable time in an intact neo-tropical jungle. Work tasks areas include: reception work; liaising with guests; translating; lodge maintenance; making inventories (e.g. ordering products from the main offices such as eco-shampoo; eco-soap; etc); assisting the visitor centre administrator; liaising with staff in Leticia and our main offices in Bogotá.
Volunteers can opt to take part in various activities and excursions which include jungle camping trips; kayaking in all types of rainforest waters; Cayman catching and release; amateur and sport fishing (including for Piranhas); walks in a variety of different rainforest ecosystems; a natural swimming pool with a mineral clay mud bath; and of course bird watching and animal spotting. Alternatively; volunteers can simply kick back in a hammock and enjoy the gorgeous tranquil scenery of the pristine surroundings during time off.
From the lodge itself; visitors can appreciate the wide variety of tropical birds and many exotic animals including grey and pink river dolphins spotted regularly from the banks. The lodge has excellent equipment and facilities and is expertly managed by a team of staff; on hand to offer advice to guests.
Please note that some nationalities will require a Brazilian tourist visa in order to participate. If this applies you must acquire a visa in advance of your visit.

Adults of both sexes 18+
English or German or French or Italian and a good comprehension of either Spanish or Portuguese.
Volunteers receive free accommodation with bed sheets and towels; food; soap; shampoo and conditioner; work garments and equipment (t-shirt; boots; raincoat and hands-free torch). Transport to and from the airports of Leticia or Tabatinga as well as the river port of Santa Rosa is provided free of charge en-route to or from our visitors centre. If the need to stay one or more nights in Leticia before being transferred to our visitors centre should arise; this cost plus a daily amount for catering expenses will be covered by us. Receiving of tips from the visiting guests is allowed. Wi-Fi internet access is available at the lodge.
