We are a Chilean/Australian husband and wife team with 6 tourist cabins near volcano Lonquimay and ski field Corralco in the central-south of Chile. We are close to several national parks. Our cabins are located on 7 hectares and we have another 120 hectares in the mountains which is our conservation property adjacent to National Park Conguillio. The volunteers who fit best with us and who feel most comfortable with the work demanded are those with a strong work ethic and lots of energy. Accommodation is in the house/shed with us and occasionally camping on our mountain property if working there. Everyone helps with cooking and washing dishes. The work expected is a minimum of 5 hours per day with one day off/week. If asked to help prepare lunch (the main meal) that is included in the work hours; other meal preparations and cleaning up are outside of the work hours. Your hosts speak Spanish and English.
Paid options may exist for persons experienced in chainsaw and wood-chopping in summer or for cleaning cabins in the month of July. Local wages offered.
