Our Foundation has been working on a natural food production project based on the research; technology development and innovation of microalgae; in La Guajira; Colombia. The project seeks to increase productivity and competitiveness of algae biotechnology and to seek commercial production in the medium term. Amongst the specific objectives there is the aim of culturing; harvesting and analysing algae species of Haematococcus pluvialis; Spirulina maxima; Spirulina platensis and cholorella sp.; in indoor and outdoor facilities. A major goal of the project is the clean production of spirulina as food supplement for under nourished children of La Guajira.
Volunteers must have health insurance that covers them whilst in Colombia.

Volunteers must preferably have skills in microbiology and/or chemistry; and must be willing to withstand temperatures above 35�c. No Spanish required; English a must.
Volunteers receive free accommodation; meals; and local transportation. All other expenses are covered by the volunteer.
