Volunteering Abroad Shouldn't Cost the Earth

Volunteer as a Teacher in Santa Marta Colombia

Description

We are a small organisation that wants to make a positive social change, improving the quality of life of people discriminated against by society, due to their extreme poverty. We feel the commitment to work for them every day. As we do not have the help of the government, we rely on local and foreign volunteers, in order to fulfil our corporate purpose. We are looking for short and long-term volunteers to participate in our project working with children from five to twelve years old and adolescents up to 18 years old. We do not charge our volunteers for collaborating in our program. The volunteers help in the teaching-learning processes for children and adolescents; to the children, in teaching them to read, to write or to advance those who already read; In addition, guidance in the basic processes of mathematics, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. English is taught to teenagers, in reality, as a language exchange between all, which guarantees the volunteer to practice the Spanish language. It is also important to teach coexistence and environmental values, some geography, drawing, art, games, depending on the skills of the volunteer. Sometimes it is important to help with administrative functions if needed, if you have the appropriate knowledge for the topic, and if the volunteer wants it.
