Our project is dedicated to the conservation of fauna of Costa Rica. We generate information that is used in environmental education to raise awareness in the community and we can all learn how to conserve the natural resources of our country; so the following generations can enjoy the resources that we enjoy today.
If you would like to work with the majestic jaguar and learn about its ecology and learn everything about sloths; macaws and many more animals; NATUWA is your project.
Here; we are all animal lovers. And we know for a fact that many wild animals require our help. But; without interfering with the interactions they have with their natural environment; their ecology. However; being an animal lover comes with a lot of responsibility and commitment. It is our responsibility to direct our love in a positive manner. Loving an animal does not mean hugging; touching; or showing “affection” to an animal; but rather having scientific knowledge of how to care for an animal in a way that will allow it to succeed in nature. Come to us and learn with us to be a real Wildlife Volunteer. In few words; to learn to coexist in harmony with the environment that surrounds us. Volunteering with us is a wonderful and unique experience that is perfect for people of all ages and all backgrounds. Volunteers will be able to positively impact the animals of the sanctuary; learn and practice Spanish; meet new people from all over the world and experience a different culture.

Adults of both sexes 18+
No experience required. We don’t accept smokers. Volunteers must follow the rules of the sanctuary.
US$42 per day which includes accommodation (dorm room); all meals; Wi-Fi access; and training in wildlife management. Vegetarian options will be provided upon request. Transportation can be arranged via taxi (US$100).
