We are a private; non-profit nature reserve in the cloud forests of Costa Rica. We have been reforesting areas of degraded pastureland in order to connect the forests of the Cerro Chirripó National Park with adjacent nature reserves and forested areas. Beyond reforestation work; we are also committed to environmental education and conducting research on the unique and diverse cloud forest ecosystem.
Our nature reserve is looking for general volunteers to help out in our reserve. Volunteers are matched with a variety of projects based on our needs; and your strengths and desires. All volunteer projects are important to the health and functioning of the reserve and to furthering our reforestation work and research. Projects can include: working in the tree nursery; planting and taking care of young trees; assisting researchers; gardening (food and flower gardens); trail and building maintenance; community and educational outreach; and IT and social media.

Adults of both sexes 18+
English communication skills; must be able to commit to 2 weeks; minimum 18 years of age; able to pay for your accommodation for the duration of your stay (US$20/night or US$17/night for stays longer than 30 days); able to pay the US$200 good faith fee upon acceptance (this fee is credited towards the last two weeks of your stay). Skills/Abilities: able to work independently; in pairs; and teams; self-motivated; with good timekeeping and ability to meet realistic deadlines; comfortable living in a close-knit community; demonstrate good judgement and common sense in a wilderness environment.
US$20 per night or US$17 per night for stays longer than 30 days. The fee includes dorm room accommodation with shared kitchen. Volunteers typically spend around US$5-7 per day on food (vegetarian diet). US$200 deposit required upon acceptance.
