We are looking for a volunteer field assistant for an ornithological study in the Monteverde area of Costa Rica.
The volunteer will be responsible for collecting field data on the bare-necked umbrellabird (Cephalopterus glabricollis) and may be involved in mist-netting; banding and transmitter application.
Applicants should be familiar with rustic conditions and comfortable living in the field. Accommodations are bunk beds; a cold outdoor rustic shower; and composting toilet.

Applicants should have at least one year paid field experience; preference given to those with an ornithological background, available throughout the preferred length of stay (mid-May to mid-June) and/or fluent in Spanish. Undergraduates will not be considered except in exceptional circumstances.
All in-country expenses covered such as accommodation and food. Volunteers also receive a US$450 stipend towards international travel costs.
