Volunteering Abroad Shouldn't Cost the Earth

Volunteer in a Wildlife Sanctuary Costa Rica

Description

Since the early 1990, we have run a small ecological reserve that conserves natural secondary forest regeneration. This area used to be a pastureland and a black bean farm. Natural regeneration processes have created a secondary tropical forest where we study and protect the tropical ecosystems to get a better understanding of them. Our mission is to conserve and sustainably manage biodiversity of the protected area through activities of eco-friendly production and integrated natural resources management. The vision is to be a model project for the conservation and sustainable management of biodiversity, developing programs and projects to train and educate national and international visitors through guided tours and presentations. We receive national and foreign volunteers at any time of year.
