We are a non-profit organization that offers “Integral Rehabilitation” based on the hippotherapy. In this case; the horse is used as a therapeutic tool to help children and young people with mental and physical disabilities. Because of the three-dimensional movement of the horse; the patient receives a sense of balance; coordination; orientation and rhythm. As also the distribution of alpha waves is increased; the patient is relaxed; and can learn easier physically and mentally. This relaxation has a positive effect on the following therapies:
Intern´s primary responsibilities:
The regular working time is 40 hours; Monday-Friday from 8h-12h (horse therapy) and from 14h-18h (riding lessons). For feeding the horses in the morning (6:15) we are operating in exchange as well during weekend service (Saturday / Sunday if necessary; 8h-12h).

No special skills needed. This project is also interesting for people with experience in therapies so they can provide profound support to our therapists and learn from them. Nevertheless, people without skills but loving kids and horses are very welcome to join this project, too. Volunteers should have knowledge about horses. Those who do not have knowledge about horses will receive a basic training course at the start of the volunteer program and get them ready for the therapies. Basic Spanish skills would be helpful, but they can learn Spanish even with a teacher who comes to the Center.
Inscription: 280 Euros. Accommodation: 80 Euros per month. The fee includes: introduction to the hippotherapy; accommodation in the volunteer house; internet access (Wi-Fi); once weekly transportation to a shopping centre; Foundation t-shirt; certificate of participation. (The fees are discounted for VLA members, saving 20 Euros per month). Transfer from the airport is optional (15 Euros during the day, 30 Euros from 6pm onwards and on weekends). The volunteers have to pay for their own meals. The volunteer house has a fully equipped kitchen, so that the preparation of meals is possible.
