Help the Horses on the Galapagos Islands

Galapagos Horse Friends

About the Program

I am seeking volunteers who would like to work with and help the horses on the Galapagos Islands. We welcome horse people as well as animal lovers for our 15 rescued horses and 12 rescued dogs.

We are particularly looking for volunteers who are skilled in farrier work like hoof care and trimming. Also; maintenance work like fencing and building stables. We are also pleased to get volunteers who have skills in fundraising and marketing.

We have developed our skills in horsemanship during the last 4 years and skipped from natural horsemanship to autonomous horsemanship. We don’t train anymore at all; we work with our energy; gain trust and natural connection. We are also certified in Horse Guided Empowerment®️; an innovative coaching and therapy method. This is very interesting for volunteers as well.

Through volunteering in the highlands of Santa Cruz; you will experience the true culture of the Galapagos Islands. Giant tortoises roam about in your backyard; guava trees surround the property; and of course you will experience other wildlife and all the beauty the Galapagos has to offer.

Please contact me if you are interested in setting up a visit with the horses or learning more about our project.

In your free time there are plenty of things to do such as visiting beautiful beaches; snorkelling; diving; mountain biking; exploring the island; and observing Giant Tortoises.
