We work on a not-for-profit basis; providing safe and enjoyable inter-cultural “immersion” experiences that; we think; are of great benefit to local children and adults; as well as the volunteers themselves. We offer three main types of placement: teaching English or other subjects in community schools; farming with local families; and conservation/ecology work; also with local families. We now have a communal organic fruit and vegetable garden. Volunteers are welcome to work in more than one area if desired.
Our project provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the breathtaking natural beauty of the cloud forests and gain fascinating insight into rural Ecuadorian culture; while helping local children and adults to appreciate their amazing natural surroundings and to get out of the poverty trap.
Spanish classes are available at a cost of US$4 per hour for one-on-one tuition.

We recommend that volunteers arrive with basic Spanish; to avoid possibly feeling isolated and frustrated.
We insist that the volunteer contribution is no more than necessary to provide healthy meals and clean accommodation (currently US$60 per week for teaching volunteers and US$70 per week for farm work and ecological conservation volunteers). Volunteers stay with local families.
