The minimum time commitment for volunteer teachers includes a 2-hour class that meets three evenings a week; a discussion group one evening a week; plus class preparation; teachers’ meetings and workshops throughout the session (10-15 hours per week total). We strive to meet the needs of our students and the communities we serve; therefore we are looking for mature; flexible; open-minded volunteers. At times volunteers may work alone; at other times; collaborative teaching may be necessary. Sessions are 9-10 weeks duration each and we have four in a year.
To apply; we require an application form; as well as one letter of recommendation (this can be from a former teacher; a colleague; a work supervisor).
Volunteer teachers receive half-off Spanish classes.
