How good are you at math? Our free after-school learning center in San Miguel Dueñas; Guatemala; 20 minutes from the historic capital of Antigua; is looking for volunteers who can speak basic Spanish and can teach primary and secondary students the mathematics the national curriculum requires them to learn. Most of the students can do addition and subtraction; as well as simple multiplication and division; but they are challenged by more advanced skills; such as fractions; decimals; combined operations; square roots and powers.

Ability to write grammatically correct Spanish and to communicate orally at a basic level; prefer some experience in education.
We have no fees; although we encourage the donation of US$250 in either materials or cash. Volunteers cover their own living costs; but we can arrange for them to live with a local family for about US$90 per week; and this includes three meals a day.
