Our organisation was founded in 1992 in response to the needs of the indigenous communities of the Río Dulce region; on the Caribbean coast of Guatemala. Since our inception we have worked to reduce poverty and promote sustainable development in rural communities through programs that emphasize social and cultural empowerment; economic autonomy and gender equality.
We count on international professional volunteers to help accomplish our mission. The number of volunteers working at the project varies from time to time; but a reasonable estimate is eight volunteers involved at various levels.
We are currently looking for volunteers to fill the following positions:
English Teacher: Teach basic concepts of grammar and conversation to middle and high school students; classes are co-taught as this benefits both students and teachers.

We prefer a minimum commitment of six months and a working knowledge of Spanish.
We don’t charge our volunteers anything and we provide basic room and board for the duration of their time working with us as volunteers.
