Maternal Health Care Honduras
Description
Giving most needed support to women during childbirth in underfunded public hospitals, assisting with our childbirth education classes and/or assisting our training program for health care providers. Make a difference with us! We appreciate volunteers, in both rural and urban areas, for students and professionals in women's health and medicine and other fields including midwifery, doulas, nursing, public health, childbirth education, social work, therapy, psychology, community, advocacy, fundraising, office work, public relations, and website maintenance. Anyone with a true interest in improving maternal and newborn health care will be welcome. Volunteering with us provides a fantastic opportunity to learn about maternal health care in a low income country, while empowering women and their families.

Cost:
There is a volunteer contribution which covers organisational and administrative costs, training, orientation, certification, airport pick-up, transportation, accommodation, and 24 hour emergency support. The cost is US$561 for the first week and US$561 for the second week, and US$200 for each subsequent week. For long-term volunteers we are able to offer a reduced fee. The fee includes accommodation, pick-up and drop-off at airport, training, orientation, preparation, and certificate at the end.
