Educador Ambiental Mexico
Description
We are a non-lucrative civil association founded with the purpose of creating an informal and permanent environmental education programme aimed at children in private and public schools. Our ecology centre frequently has opportunities for volunteers who would like to participate in our projects. The volunteer programme is available year round and offers a valuable experience to young people interested in the environment. The programme is flexible, and offers part time opportunities for students that are currently enrolled in universities or colleges and wish to experience work abroad. The duties of volunteers include: being an instructor for groups of children with environmental education programs, elaborating environmental education programs, being tour guides around the hacienda, translating, elaborating educational material, supporting the administration area in specific functions, collaborating with the Centres’ projects, supporting reforestation campaigns, visiting schools for promotion and attending conferences. We also invite personal projects and initiatives. Volunteers work most of the time with groups of children helping out the guides, even though they collaborate in other projects as well.

Reviews
"This project does an amazing job providing informal environmental education to groups of children, participating in reforestations, tree donations and many other activities. Volunteer's time is divided in three parts: assisting visits and camps of school groups, working on personal projects, depending on your experience and interests of organization and helping with garden, composting, social media or preparing material for future visits of children. It's quite a lot of work, but the work is incredibly rewarding. It is also a place to improve your Spanish skills. Volunteers live in a beautiful ancient hacienda, which is more than 400 years old! Each week we get provided some money for food, which can all be bought in Jesus Maria, a small town just 10 minutes away by bus. Hacienda is located in a state of Aguascalientes which is very safe and has an amazing climate."- Saule Paltanaviciute
