We are a comfortable; safe and happy children’s home set in a camp-like environment providing physical and emotional care. In addition to caring for the children and teens we prepare them for adoption and to be reunited with their families. The teens still with us after completing high school are provided opportunities for University and/or employment.
Although all the children in our care are provided by the State and Municipal Child Protection Agencies; we receive no government funding and rely solely on private donations.
All the children of Casa Hogar share something in common; the desire to be with their parents. We understand we cannot replace their parents but we do whatever possible to fill this void through love; affection; patience and correction.
The children and teens of Casa Hogar form long term friendships and a brotherhood; often sharing interests; goals; aspirations and dreams.
There are always jobs available to our visitors and volunteers. Fun jobs; dirty jobs; creative jobs; boring jobs. Examples include sports; craft activities; musical and art demonstrations and mentoring; reading programs; educational activities; gardening; landscaping; de-weeding; construction; painting. Volunteers have also worked alongside staff and assisted in their daily parental duties.
