Ayahuasca Healing Retreat & Volunteering

Our Ayahuasca retreat is combining ancient shamanic healing techniques with a scientific approach. We understand the reality that we are deeply connected with the universe and Mother Nature; and this is used as our guiding force. We consider it a mistake to think our physical existence is the sum total of reality; neglecting the spiritual realm and considering it imaginary. We believe that in entering into connection with the spirit; one enters into a connection with love. As the Spirit is Love.

Etnikas has a multi-disciplinary health team consisting of a Cardiologist; Psychiatrist; Psychologist; General Practitioner; Emergency nurse who complement the highly experienced native Andean and Amazonian shaman. We believe that our way of symbolizing; celebrating and honouring the Spirit embraces all people and transcends all cultural boundaries. As such we welcome people of all faiths and religions; scientists and doctors; atheists and agnostic’s; to our retreat at Etnikas.

We offer a 3; 5; 7 and 8 day retreat program that include volunteering with a non profit organisation called Human Actions. During the retreat volunteers will perform social responsibility activities:

We have learned the first steps to opening the healing doors of one’s mind; body and spirit is through the act of GIVING. Doing kind acts with love and sincerity make us healthier. Engaging in healthy acts is the psychological basis for happiness. Modern day neuroscience has confirmed that engaging in kind acts improves ones hormonal; psychological; emotional; and physiological well being. In many cases it has been observed to prolong duration of life; generating vital force through which mental and physical healing is obtained.

Our social responsibility involves working with child that comes from the poorest communities in and around Cusco. Many of children are physically or mentally disadvantaged as well as orphaned. We offer help with simple tasks such as feeding; cleaning and sharing your company. The service lasts for about 1-2 hours.

The other part of the social responsibility involves looking after dogs that are in a state of physical and emotional neglect. We offer help to keep the dogs spaces clean and tidy; by grooming the dogs; and feeding them. The service lasts for about 1-2 hours.
