Empowering Indigenous Artisans Peru
Description
We are a non-profit social enterprise that connects the world to the woven work of Quechua women, helping to preserve their ancient craft and provide them with economic opportunities. We also engage in community-led economic development initiatives in the communities in which it works, in the highlands above Ollantaytambo, and in the Sacred Valley and beyond.
We provide unique volunteer experiences tailored to suit your particular skills and interests while also fulfilling our organizational goals. Our focus on attention to detail ensures we create well-structured, impactful projects that contribute both to your professional development as well as the growth of our organization. Reviews
"Threads of Peru will always have a piece of my heart. At the age of twenty, I hopped on a plane and traveled into the unknown. It was my first time traveling to a foreign country alone, much less a place where I couldn't speak the language. From the moment I landed, Threads of Peru team took me under their wings and made me feel at home. At times, it felt like I was opening a door to the living past being able to work with the indigenous artisans. From traveling up into the Andes to exploring the streets of Cusco, Threads of Peru gave me a new place to call home."- Mariah Krey
