Impact Assessment Volunteer Peru
Description
We are in search of Impact Assessment Volunteer who is passionate about researching and analyzing the impact of our organization in the remote communities in the high mountains of the Andes! Learn about the effects of a fair trade organization amongst the weavers of a Quechua tradition. This position is directed to university students or professionals with backgrounds in the liberal arts and is interested in advancing their careers through working with an international non-profit enterprise. The Impact Assessment Volunteer will report to the Project Coordinator, located in Cusco, Peru.
Your tasks will include:
- Review past assessment data and from that, develop a framework for evaluating our current impact
- Perform field research in the communities as necessary with possible overnight stays
- Organize and archive your findings
- Prepare a comprehensive assessment report

Qualifications/Skills:
Requirements: relevant professional experience or minimum 2 years university in the liberal arts; must be able to commit to a minimum 3-months volunteer experience, preferably longer; 20-25 hours/week (part-time) or 30-35 hours/week (full-time); capable of fully financially supporting yourself for the length of your stay; must have own computer; ability to quickly adapt to new environments, be resourceful and be sensitive to cultural differences; an adventurous spirit and ability to work well both independently and in team environments; interest in sustainability, ethics and responsibility in travel and community development; intermediate to advanced level of Spanish. Assets: good quality digital camera and experience with photography and film; willingness to learn Quechua and/or some basic experience with Quechua Threads of Peru.

Cost:
We know traveling is expensive but as a non-profit organization, we kindly request that you help support the growth of our project by making a donation to our volunteer and intern program. We don't take any profit from these fees, which will be instead applied to offering the most exciting and professionally beneficial experiences we are able. These fees are: less than 3 months - US$80 per week; 3+ months - US$500 for the first month and US$100 for each additional month.
