Multiple Support/Office-Based Volunteering/Internships Peru
Description
We are a registered UK charity and Peruvian NGO based in Huanchaco, northern Peru. We run four of our own Huanchaco Education and Learning Projects (HELP) in Huanchaco and Cerrito de la Virgen, a neighbouring informal settlement, as well as collaborating with a number of other organisations to run partner projects.
We offer a range of office-based volunteering opportunities, all of which can be adapted into internships for students. Available roles include:
- Marketing Coordinator or Volunteer
- Fundraising Coordinator or Volunteer
- Recruitment Coordinator
- Volunteer Coordinator
- Translation Volunteer for Spanish/French/German/Portuguese (remote option available)
- Photography Volunteer
Full descriptions of the above roles and requirements are available to view on our website. Long-term volunteers are preferred, so you have a chance to really get to know the community and get comfortable in your role.
What you can expect from us:
- Personal pick-up upon arriving and walking tour through Huanchaco
- Help with organising accommodation for your time in Huanchaco

- Certified training in First Aid and Child Safeguarding
- 2 days holiday per month
- 24/7 emergency support
- Reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses
- Organized activities (barbeques, game nights, volunteer lunch, etc.)
- Upon request: certificate of completion detailing your role, the project(s) you participated in and the dates you volunteered in.

Cost:
There is a small volunteer contribution required for in-country placements, but this is much lower than many other ‘voluntourism’ companies and organisations (which can charge hundreds of pounds per week!). The contribution goes directly towards covering administration costs and the running of our organisation, so this low-cost volunteering model helps to ensure the continuity of our projects.
